SHELTER TO STREET CHILDREN

It is obvious that there are a large number of children left uncared in the streets due to various reasons. While most of them lead their livelihood in the daytime working as porters, coolies in hotels, factories and business centre’s and housemaids, some of them indulge in unlawful activities. The question of their shelter after their days work is certainly their perennial problem. CSSR has constructed a well furnished building, a home, for their children.35 children including 3 girls were enrolled in the home. The children were extended shelter at any time of their arrival after their work considering the nature of their jobs.During the evenings,they were extended non formal education and some recreation like television and radio.They were also given counseling to lead a better livelihood.Moreover,the elder children were given vocation trainings in various activities for their self employement.Besifes they were provided one time food a day.
